Dinesh Karthik’s full name is Krishnakumar Dinesh Karthik. He was born on 1 June 1985. He is an Indian professional cricketer who plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL Tournament. Dinesh is also the Domestic Cricket current captain of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Team. He made his debut in 2004 for the Indian Cricket Team. Dinesh Karthik has become the fourth Indian Batsman to play 300 T20 matches till now.
Karthik made his maiden Test century against Bangladesh therefore he was India’s leading scorer on their Test tour of England. By helping Team India win their 1st series in England in 21 years. Dinesh Karthik IPL Career
Dinesh Karthik made their debut in the inaugural season of the IPL for Delhi Daredevils. In the 2011 Season, he was bought by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) for $900,000. In the next season, He joined Mumbai Indians (MI) for $2.35 million. He came back to Delhi Daredevils in the 2014 IPL Season.
In 2015, Dinesh went to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and in 2016 to Gujarat Lions. In the 2018 season, he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and was made the captain of the team from 2018 to 2022. Moreover, Karthik took the team to the playoffs but in the final lost the match.

Domestic Career
Dinesh Karthik’s started playing cricket at the age of 10. His first coach was his father Mr. Karthik. In his starting year, he played in Tamil Nadu’s teams. From this, he steadily ranks and made his U-14s debut in 1999 for Tamil Nadu Team. A year later, he was into the U-19s and the following season Dinesh made his first-class debut.
Dinesh was called to the Ranji Trophy team in the 2003-2004 seasons. There he smashed 438 runs in the tournament, which included 2 centuries, one each in the semi-final & final. Therefore, This performance takes him to the place in the Team India squad for the 2004 U-19 Cricket World Cup (Bangladesh). In the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons of Ranji Trophy, Dinesh gave strong performances in the series. In 2009-10 he was the captain of the Tamil Nadu Ranji Trophy team.
International Career
Dinesh made his Test debut against the Australian Cricket team in 2004 (Mumbai). In the starting innings, he failed to make an impact. Karthik played in the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy but was replaced by Mahendra Singh Dhoni. In the ensuing series, MS Dhoni kept performing well and Dinesh was unable to take the chance. Although he was included in the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup Team squad he didn’t get a chance to play a single match in the tournament.
Karthik’s also came in their 2004 ODI debut against England. There he was also selected for the inaugural 2007 ICC World Twenty20 in South Africa (2007). He wasn’t able to perform well as he was replaced by Rohit Sharma for the semi-final or the final. In 2009, he was called back to India’s ODI squad to replace M.S Dhoni. He was again recalled for the ICC Champions Trophy 2013.
