1. Afghanistan: 278/3 vs Ireland (Feb 2019)

Afghanistan comes first in the list of highest scores in T20 cricket. In February 2019, Afghanistan set a new record in T20 cricket by scoring 278/3 against Ireland. This is the highest T20 score till date. 

Afghanistan opener Hazratullah Zazai scored a scorching 162 runs to take the team to the highest score of 278 for 3 in 20 overs. In reply, while chasing the target, Ireland could only score 194 runs and lost the match by 83 runs.

2. Czech Republic: 278 for 4 vs Turkey (August 2019)

And 6 months later, the Czech Republic also scored the same total (278/4) against Turkey in the Continental Cup. The record for Highest T20 Score in Cricket was also made in this match between the Czech Republic and Turkey. 

Batting first, the Czech Republic touched Afghanistan’s highest figures thanks to the innings of Sudesh Wickremesekhar (104 off 36 balls) and Sumit Pokhriyal (79 off 52 balls). Turkey has collapsed like a pack of cards in pursuit of this goal. And the team was all out on the minimum score of just 21 runs. This is the Czech Republic’s biggest win in the history of T20 cricket (win by a margin of 257 runs). Which is the biggest win record in T20I cricket.

3. Australia: 263 for 2 vs Sri Lanka (September 2016)

There is also a name of Australia team in the list of Highest T20 Score in cricket. In Twenty20 Internationals, Australia set the record for the highest run/score in T20 cricket against Sri Lanka. On 6 September 2016, a record score of 263/2 was made against Sri Lanka and in reply Sri Lankan players could not wish for anything and lost the match by 85 runs. Glenn Maxwell, known for his stormy batting for Australia, thrashed the Sri Lankan bowlers. Opening the innings, Glenn Maxwell played a stormy inning of 145 runs off 65 balls. Apart from this, there were also valuable contributions from David Warner, Usman Khawaja and Travis Head, who scored 28, 36 and 45 runs respectively.

4. Sri Lanka 260/6 vs Kenya (September 2007)

The Sri Lanka team also holds the record for the highest score in Twenty20 Internationals. The Sri Lankan cricket team made the highest score of 260/6 against Kenya in the T20 World Cup 2007. In reply, the Kenya team scored only 172 runs and lost the match by 88 runs.

5. India 260 for 5 v Sri Lanka (December 2017)

Starting the first innings, the India team set a huge target of 260 for 5 wickets with the help of Rohit Sharma (118) and KL Rahul (89). This is India’s highest T20 score in cricket.

India achieved this feat in the second match of the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. Indian openers Rohit and Rahul hit a stick of fours and sixes. Rohit Sharma scored 118 runs in 53 balls while KL Rahul scored 89 runs in 49 balls.

In the second innings, the Sri Lankan batsmen bowed down to the Indian bowlers and Sri Lanka were all out for 172 runs. India won this match by 88 runs.
