Team India dethrones New Zealand by becoming the ranking no. 1 in the ICC Test rankings, by defeating 1-0 in the 2-match series. Mayank Agarwal’s bat & Jayant Yadav’s took a 04-wicket haul in the 2nd innings helped India defeat New Zealand by 372 runs in the 2nd Test at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday.
By winning this match, India sealed the 02-match series 1-0 & now Virat’s side will head to South Africa for 03 Tests & 03 ODIs, beginnings on 26th December 2021.
In the ICC Test Rankings, Virat Kohli’s side is now 03 points ahead of 2nd-placed New Zealand. Therefore, India has 124 Points, Australia is in 3rd place with 108 points, while New Zealand has 121 points.

England is in the 4th ranking with 107 points. Both Australia & England will have a chance to improve their ranking in the 05-match of the Ashes.
Earlier, before the Test series between Ind vs NZ, with 119 ratings India was at the 2nd position in 25 matches, whereas with 126 rating New Zealand in 22 matches.
After beating New Zealand by 372 runs in the 2nd test of the 2-match test series, Virat Kohli became the 1st player to record 50 international wins in each format of the Test Series, T20Is, and ODIs game.

For the next game, BCCI has confirmed that India will tour South Africa for the Test & ODI series starting December 26; the T20I series will be played later because of amid the Omicron threat.
