The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 will be the 12th edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup. Earlier, it was scheduled for 06th February to 07th March 2021 but was postponed by 1 year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And now is scheduled to be held in New Zealand from 04th March. On 15th December 2021, the ICC confirmed that the tournament will take place from 04th March to 03rd April 2022. The tournament will witness a total of eight teams battling against each other for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022.

The eight teams who are part of ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 are Australia Women, Bangladesh Women, New Zealand Women, South Africa Women, India Women, Pakistan Women, England Women, and West Indies Women. The ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 tournament will be hosted by New Zealand. University Oval (Dunedin), Seddon Park (Hamilton), Bay Oval (Mount Maunganui), Basin Reserve (Wellington), Eden Park (Auckland), and Hagley Oval (Christchurch) are the venues for the matches. ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 – Match Preview

In the previous edition of the tournament, England was the defending champions in 2017 by defeating Team India Women. The Women’s World Cup 2022 tournament was scheduled to take place the previous year but it was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the opening match of the tournament, New Zealand Women (NZ-W) will lock horns with West Indies Women (WI-W) on 04th March 2022 (Friday) at Bay Oval Stadium in Mount Maunganui. On the other hand, India Women (IND-W) will play their opening match against Pakistan Women (PAK-W) on 06th March 2022 (Sunday) at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. India to face Pakistan in Opening Encounter

2022 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup

ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 tournament will be played in a round-robin format. All eight teams will face each other once. The top 4 teams in the points table after the league stage will play against in the semi-final. The winners of the semis will proceed to the final match. The ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 final is scheduled to be played on 03rd April 2022 (Sunday) at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
