IPL 2022 Auction - Final List Announced

IPL 2022 Mega Auction Date & Time Released – Now Check List of Players shortlisted for Auction, IPL 2022 List of Retained & Players List, Remaining Purse Value of All 10 Teams

This is the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League sponsored by Tata and it will be called the Tata IPL from the 2022 Seasons. IN Indian Premier League 2022, a total of 10 teams will participate across the country. This year, two new teams were added as IPL franchises namely Lucknow and Ahemdabad. Each existing team was allowed to retain a maximum of four players, whereas the two new teams were allowed to pick a maximum of three players before the auction on 30 November 2022.

BCCI has announced the IPL Mega Auction Date & time for 590 Players which will be bought by all 10 IPL franchises on 12 & 13 February 2022. The IPL auction will take place on 12 & 13 February in Bangalore at 12:00 PM local time. This Mega Auction event of the Indian Premier League will be telecasted on Star Sports Network.

IPL 2022- 590 Players Shortlisted for Auction

The Indian Premier League (IPL) on 1st February announced its final auction pool, which has been reduced by half from the original list of 1214 players. The Final list includes 590 players, who will go under the hammer during the two-day mega auction on 12, 13 February 2022. This final list includes 44 new names that were registered in the auction upon the request of the franchises.

Of the 590 players, there are 228 capped players, 355 uncapped, and 7 from Associate countries. The 7 Associate players are Sandeep Lamichhane, Brad Wheal, David Wiese, JJ Smit, Ruben Trumpelmann, Safyaan Sharif and Ali Khan.

India’s U19 stars – Yash Dhull, Vicky Ostwal, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, and some of the talked-about Indian cricketers such as Devdutt Padikkal, Deepak Hooda, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, Krunal Pandya, Shahrukh Khan, etc. will be looking to cash in and make their mark during the auction and then, in the competition.

IPL 2022 Mega Auction Date 

The 2 day Mega Auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season will be likely to host in the Garden City of Bengaluru. According to a senior BCCI official on 22nd December the BCCI is planning to host the mega auction on 12th, 13th February 2022.

IPL 2022 Teams Purse Value and Deductions 

The purse value of each IPL franchise is fixed at 90 crores, meaning a team can spend a total of 90 crores to buy players. Each team can retain only 4 players. After the retained players, the remaining amount will have to be spent in the Mega Auction.

All the teams of the Indian Premier League have been offered a purse of Rs 90 crores from which deductions will be made depending upon the retention and purchasing of the players that they will be doing. For teams that will be retaining four players, an amount of Rs 42 crores will be deducted from the purse of the Teams. On retained Players, an amount of Rs 42 crores will be deducted from the purse of the Team- The value format of the retained players is- 

Player 1 Rs 16 Crore 
Player 2 Rs 12 Crore
Player 3 Rs 8 Crore
Player 4 Rs 6 Crore 

A list of what will be remaining in the purse of the teams after retaining a different number of players for the upcoming matches- 

  • After 4 Retentions- Rs 48 Cr
  • After 3 Retentions- Rs 57 Cr 
  • After 2 Retentions- Rs 66 Cr
  • After 1 Retention- Rs 76 Cr 
  • No Retentions at all- Rs 90 Cr 

IPL 2022 Retention Price – Retained & Released Players List

There has been no change in the salaries of the players. The salaries of retained players will be – INR 15 Crore, INR 11 Crore, and INR 7 Crore (if a franchise retains three cricketers). The salary structure of retained players will be Rs 12.5 crore and Rs 8.5 crore if two players are retained by a franchise and Rs 12.5 crore for retaining only one player.

MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli are the first choice of their respective franchises and are receiving INR 15 Crore in each IPL season since 2018 while Virat Kohli is receiving INR 17 Crore.
