Hello guys, the 15th season of the Indian Premier League is going to start on 26 March 2022. Board of Control for Cricket in India has revealed IPL 2022 Format and Groups of 10 teams. Apart from this, the board has announced Venues where 70 League Matches will be played.

Tata IPL 2022 Schedule – Match Dates
Indian Premier League is starting from 26 March 2022. BCCI has released the IPL format. The 10 teams playing in the league are divided into two groups. The two-month-long tournament will feature 70 league games and 4 Playoffs games. Each team will have 14 matches. A team will play two matches each with the teams of its group and the team of the same line from the other group.
There will be one match each with the remaining teams of the second group. Thus 70 league matches will be held between 10 teams of IPL. The board has selected the Pune venue over Mumbai for IPL league matches. All matches will be held at Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium (CCI), DY Patil Stadium Mumbai, and MCA International Stadium.

Tata IPL 2022 Teams
The Indian Premier League, the major competition of Twenty20 cricket, will be held from 26 March to 29 May 2022. This time 10 teams will take part in IPL instead of 8. This time two new franchises have been formed, Lucknow and Hyderabad. IPL teams along with Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans are as follows –

IPL 2022 Matches Details
The tournament is scheduled to begin on 26 March 2022 and end with the final on 29 May 2022. The group stage of the tournament will be played entirely in the state of Maharashtra, with Mumbai and Pune hosting the matches.
In the Indian Premier League, the number of matches has been increased to 74. Each team will play 14 Matches in the Group Stages. This time, there will be no home or away games, as the entire tournament is being hosted in Maharashtra. BCCI has confirmed that the entire IPL 2022 will be held in Maharashtra on four venues.
IPL 2022 Matches Venue
There are four venues selected in Mumbai and Pune for IPL 2022 Fixtures. The Venues for IPL League Stage Matches will be Wankhede Stadium, DY Patil Stadium, Brabourne Stadium and MCA International Stadium Pune to host the league stage of the IPL 2022.
All IPL Fixtures will be played in India only. UAE is always the alternate favorite location for BCCI to Organize IPL and other major tournaments in case of the Covid Pandemic
Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium will host 20 games apiece while Brabourne Stadium and MCA International Stadium will stag 15 Matches each.

IPL 2022 Groups – All IPL Teams are divided into Two Groups
Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced recently that all the ten Teams will divide into two groups of five teams each. Group A and Group B have been put in place to divide ten teams.
In Group-A there are Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants. In Group-B, there are Chennai Super Kings, Surisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans.

Explained IPL 2022 Format and Matches
As per the new format, each team will play twice with the teams of its Group and twice with the team in the same raw. While Once with the other four teams left in another group.
For Example- Mumbai will play two matches each with KKR, RR, DC and LSG. Also, MI will play two matches with CSK, which is in the same raw as Mumbai. This is how 10 matches will be completed of a team.
Mumbai Indians will then play its next four matches with the remaining teams of Group B i.e. RCB, SRH, PBKS and GT. In this way, Mumbai will complete its 14 League stage games.
