The Indian Premier League 2022 is also known as IPL 15 or, Tata IPL 2022. IPL is scheduled to be the 15th season of a professional T20 cricket league established by the BCCI in 2007. The season will see the addition of 2 new franchises. This will make it the 2nd season to have 10 teams, after the 2011 tournament. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is the defending champions, having won their 4th title in the previous season.

The IPL on 1st February announced its final auction pool, which has been reduced by half from the original list of 1214 players. The Final list includes 590 players, who will go under the hammer during the two-day mega auction on 12th, 13th February 2022. This final list includes 44 new names that were registered in the IPL 2022 Auction upon the request of the franchises.

Of the 590 players, there are 228 capped players, 355 uncapped, and 7 from Associate countries. The 7 Associate players are Sandeep Lamichhane, Brad Wheal, David Wiese, JJ Smit, Ruben Trumpelmann, Safyaan Sharif and Ali Khan.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finalized a list of 5090 players that will be going under the hammer at the upcoming IPL 2022 mega auction on 12, 13th February 2022. The list includes 370 Domestic Players & 220 Overseas Players. Among the 220 players, England has 24 players putting up their names in the IPL 2022 Auction. In the List, most of the players play freelance Twenty20 Cricket across various leagues in the world.

The Auction list includes names such as Eoin Morgan, Jofra Archer, Jonny Bairstow, and Jason Roy amongst others. The ECB informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding Archer’s availability after the pacer said that he is looking to get back to competitive cricket from the IPL 2022-23 seasons.

The second day of the Mega Auction for the IPL 2022 15th season will be likely to host in the Garden City of Bengaluru. According to BCCI officials is planning to host the IPL 2022 Mega Auction on 12th, 13th February 2022.

Jofra Archer Enrolls his Name for IPL 2022 Mega Auction among England Players

“The ECB has registered Archer for the auction with a view to potential participation in 2023 and 2024, as due to his current injury it is unlikely that he can participate in IPL 2022,” the BCCI wrote to the franchises providing a list of 44 new names that have been added to the register.

30 players from England have enrolled in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction which was finally short to 24. 9 English players have kept a base price of Rs. 2 crores for themselves. While 4 each have kept themselves in Rs 1.5 & Rs 1.5 crore base price.
