The Punjab Kings (PBKS) is a franchise cricket team based in Mohali, Punjab. The team was established in the year 2008 as the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). The franchise is jointly owned by Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta & Karan Paul. The Punjab Kings team plays its home matches at the PCA Stadium, Mohali. Since 2010, they also have been playing some of their home games at Dharamsala or Indore. In the 2014 season, they topped the league table & finished runners-up.
The Punjab Kings once played now-defunct Champions League T20 in 2014 as the Kings XI Punjab and finished as semi-finalists. The KXIP team name was changed to Punjab Kings on 17th February 2021.

IPL 2022 Retention List
Most of the IPL franchises have already revealed some of their retentions.
M.S Dhoni, Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma are set to be retained by Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Mumbai Indians (MI) resp. Both the Rajasthan Royals & Delhi Capitals will retain Sanju Samson & Rishabh Pant as their skippers in IPL 2022.
