Boult is the left-handed swing bowler. He made his 1st-Class debut when Trent was picked for the New Zealand ‘A’ team ( tour of India) in 2007.

After his impressive performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 as leading wicket-taker. Trent Boult came into the limelight of the IPL franchises and he was grabbed up by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2015. Trent Boult was purchased for $600,000. In 2017, the Trent was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) side for Rs. 5 Crore.
After then Boult played for Delhi Capitals from the 2018 to 2019 season. The left-arm pacer scalped 18 wickets from 14 matches in 2018. However, in IPL 2019 where Trent only played 5 games, he was again let go. The left-arm pacer was then bought by Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2019 for a Whopping price of Rs 3.2 crore.
He was named the player of the season and was also the man of the match in the final. Trent Boult took up 25 wickets in that IPL edition and became the 3rd-highest wicket-taker after Jasprit Bumrah & Kagiso Rabada. His best bowling figures in the IPL 2020 are 4/18 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 23rd October 2020. In the IPL 2022 Auction, He was bought by the Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Boult was selected for the New Zealand Squad for the ODI series against Australia on 21st January 2009. He only managed to play in the warm-up match against the Prime Minister’s XI and went out 07 overs. He made his Test debut in (2011–12) seasons, in the 2nd Test against Australia (Hobart). In a match won by New Zealand (NZ) by 07 runs. New Zealand’s 1st test win in Australia since 1985 and their 1st test win over Australia since 1993. He has had a good start to his cricket career as Boult has scalped wickets against West Indies, India, England, and Sri Lanka.
