Indian Cricket Player Varaun Charkraverthy was born on 29 August 1991 at Bidar, Karnataka. He is 30 years old and a right-handed Batsman and Mistri Spiner bowler. He plays domestic cricket for Tamil Nadu and Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Currently, Varun is an important leg-spin bowler in the IPL franchise KKR team.
Varun Chakraborty made his debut for the India team in international cricket in July 2021. Varun is an off-break bowler. He made his List A debut for Tamil Nadu on 20 September 2018 in the “2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy”.

In December 2018, Varun was bought by Kings XI Punjab for 8.4 crores. He made his Twenty20 debut on 27 March 2019. Playing for Punjab, Varun conceded 25 runs in his very first over, which is his costliest over in IPL so far. He was released by Kings XI Punjab in the auction of the next season of IPL.
He was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2021 auction. In the same league, Varun took 5 wickets for 20 runs against Delhi Capitals on 24 October 2020.

In October 2020, Varun was selected for the 15-man Indian team (India’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad) for the series against Australia. The very next month, Chakraborty was dropped from the team due to injury.
In June 2021, he was named in India’s One Day International (ODI) and T20I squads for the series against Sri Lanka. He made his T20I debut for India against Sri Lanka on 25 July 2021, taking the wicket of Dasun Shanaka. In September 2021, Chakraborty was named to India’s squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
