Since Childhood, Virat was passionate about cricket in his schooldays. After playing for domestic teams such as Delhi & India Red, Kohli made his one-day international debut on 18th August 2008 against Sri Lanka in Dambulla. In 2010 & 2011, he made his T20 & Test debut against Zimbabwe & West Indies. In 2008, Virat captained the Indian Under-19 team in the world cup in Malaysia & led the team. This was the turning point of his career.

He got a chance in the senior Indian team. Since then, he continued to play & broke several records in the match. In the ICC rankings, he is the 5th batsman in the list of most hundreds by an international batsman. Till now (July 2018), he has scored 17435 runs including all three formats. In the year 2014, he was appointed as the captain of the Indian Cricket Team after the resignation of M. S. Dhoni.
